my name is samantha,: 'in a grove,' the short story by ryunosuke akutagawa inspired the title of my blog, as well as many of my artistic, and now journalistic pursuits. it is the story about a murder, and leads the reader to wonder, not only, who is telling the truth, but what each person's motivation is for telling his or her own tale. this story illustrates my curiosity to understand other people's truths that has led me to pursue photojournalism.
